You Betcha Iris Zine Vol. 1 (Anaconda LaSabrosa)

You Betcha Iris Zine Vol. 1 (Anaconda LaSabrosa)

You Betcha Iris is a bilingual printed zine that profiles one Tiohtià:ke/Montreal-based drag performer per issue. The inaugural issue features Latinx powerhouse Anaconda LaSabrosa, who was interviewed by editor Clara backstage at Café Cleopatra during Nuit SPASM 2018. She spoke about her creative process, being Montreal’s Divine, mistakenly thinking you look sickening when you first start out, and the realities of building a drag career while studying and working a day job. She also reacts throughout the interview to interjections from House of Laureen drag family members Uma Gahd and Noah Gahd. Photographer Aok Palad was backstage that same night capturing beautiful images of Anaconda, Uma and Rita Baga as they prepared for the show.
